Is Airbnb Income Subject to ACC?

Question

A GST-registered person has a property that is used for Airbnb.  In the tax return of 2018, shall we put the profit under rental income which is exempt from ACC, or shall we include it under business income that is subject to ACC? 

Answer

It would be normal for most people to classify Airbnb as rental income.
